Journey of a Technophobe

i think this website is about to come into its own and drag yours truly,the technophobe, well and truly into the 21st century.Yesterday was an amazing “Birthday” topped with the parcel from sarah followed by phonecall and she now has her laptop ! Heather and I did a joint birthday /end of exams and school celebration! for your info sr we went to the whitehouse and ate outside!  We are trying to get away now to the house. Mikes finished the baptism now we just have to pack up and shut up shop.Jeanne is incharge whilst we are away thinks the orchid is stunning but has asked us to put the buddah alongside to help protect it!!   Gonna shut this down now and reconvene when we get back. 

there just seem to be too many things to consider and people to bring in to the equation pat was saying am i going down or will we ? I know what I would prefer but I suspect Mike is under too much pressure… it would be really nice to get down to see carmine and ron and  check out where mike's grandad used to live.

the Salisburys could be visited on the way and it might even be possible to see nigel and kate!  Who knows? to more local matters  st james  vicar and wife are now in residence hes licenced on Wednesday and starts work on Thursday maybe, just maybe life will become more manageable.

on a canine and feline note what is it with the animals in this house? our dog is absolutely terrified of thunder and we have 3 cats who appear to be suffering from hayfever …is that possible? they certainly appear to be a lot better since the thunderstorm. anyway back to my original title and what i cant make my mind up over to push for a mobility car now i have my licence or go for a 4×4 chair or scooter neither of which would work in both scotland and here and are too expensive to just be used for very short periods….. the thunderstorm seems to have cleared the air and unscrambled my brain maybe i'll talk to the people with the slightly cheaper models and see if they have any ex demo models now wuld that work

as to ramps here ..we are getting there slowly should apparently get a first visit in 4-6 weeks how long it will take after that is anybodys guess but its a start

SHOULD I BE SENSIBLE …. or should i take a test drive of the extreme 4×4 off road wheel chair that would deal with rowanlea terrain.

It was worth talking nicely to the people in Swansea about wanting not to leave the vicar to do all of the 9 hour drive when we take our post Easter break and go to Scotland. We are not going immediately this year Instead we're going Next week-end via Manchester (where we're stopping to participate in the MS convention. Should be interesting.

Its been a very strange week in this neck of the woods but i am now assured the vicarage should be ramped within the next couple of months … Not the front door, the one from the dining room its a shallower gradient – they will probably have to change the door but will work it out and i am assured it should be done fairly quickly- certainly by the Summer. Not bad for a days work I'm impressed anyway!

Here Spring has truley sprung!  …. looking out of the kitchen window daffodils are manyfold and certainly brighten up the view but alongside that there are still freak snow flurries!!  Sis sounding much more confident and the post i have just read appears "metaphorically" to be a million miles further on than the equivalent one when she had first arrived in Syria.

At this side of the world I now am beginning to put my head round how to move on when my licence finally arrives.Have just been looking at motability garages,but having been sent a "driving with ms" pamphlet by Mavis ,am hesitant to do anything else incase i need an automatic and then need to send the license back?

I think the whole family must be on an extremely sharp learning curve but what fun and aslong as we can all keep smiling wow! …we're doing well.

think i'm beginning to work out what i'm doing but an awful lot of the time its still hit and miss! ….. its been nice to catch up with you these last few days and will be nice to continue when youre in the next place.Dad and I still havent managed to work out if we can join you think it might be easier when u know where you're going to be.However i will continue to try and get a decision sorted and if i do i'll let you know!(nice of me do i hear you say?) seriously

Margaret at church had brought a huge world map in and has brightened up the boiler corner of the church with posts and pictures and you and your new friends are doing major pr work here any posts appreciated to add to the dialogue

Jean (and Chuck)were asking after you and send their love as does Stella the organist(she thinks its great that you have your whistle and music is showing its value in crossing languages.

What else can I tell you ? I have managed to print some of your photos, much to dads horror i couldnt work out how to cancel the request when i discovered it was printing them all andividually  only did the first page but i can see your facination for the light and lines and colour ;the whole thing is inspirational love. Hope the next place lives up to it …. waiting to hear,

I’m going to attempt to use this to brainstorm some in tandem writing so for now sweet dreams

Anyone who knows how much i hate technology, will appreciate that title. However I guess i probably should be greatful for small mercies,i think i’ve learnt more in the past hour than in days of having people around…..

now though i’m running out of space and am not sure if the box will get any bigger if it does thats fine but if not i will have to take a rain check until we get back from Scotland . Problem solved the space to scream at this inanimate object with no one to worry has worked wonders .

and if you’re reading this ,S, I told you I would blog tonight I’m just sorry you dont appear to be on line …. no not really it would have been nice to talk but hopefully you are feeling better and have found something more local i’m going to stop blogging for now and look at some travel sites you are giving me wanderlust big time! 

my eldest tells me via msn that she went to Bosnia today!  ,,,and it was awesome! the babe of the family saved her boyfriend’s life yesterday  and tommorow Mike gets inducted as Rector !   Meantime I am still battling beurocracy to get my license back with an organisation that cant deal with Emails and even when you fax them information it takes days to get onto their system  this has been going on for nearly 6 months and i’m losing my patience !  I’d be very happy to go global and join the rect of the world if I didnt have to deal with such dinasaurs.Has anyone out there got any ideas for how to speed them up?
