If someone has accessed anothers hotmail account is there anyway of working out whats going on?…. whoever it was was definitely not my daughter ! and at this distance we are a little worried

Someone recently ‘stole’ my Hotmail account and locked me out of it.
They had engaged me in an Instant Messaging Session, asking me why I was using their email address. Naturally, being stupid I logged in to my hotmail account to check it was OK whilst they were on line and somehow they stole the password.
Hotmail staff were brilliant and restored the account to me but all my mail and folders and contacts had been deleted – all that was in there was the email address of the person who had engaged me in the Instant Messaging session!
If it was fairly recent [ie within 30 days] the Hotmail staff may be able to find something out. Give them all the detail you can.
