Journey of a Technophobe

calling all visitors to the vicarage at the weekend to rack their brains as to if they saw my phone b4 they keft! i havent seen it since sunday morning when i got home and took it out of my trouser pocket and put it safely (or so i thought) on the side until i was ready to deal with it . At that point the outfit i was wearing had no pockets! Anyway the battery is now dead and i cant think of anywhere else to look !

Be impressed ive just phoned about an english post in Leeds the only trouble is they will be interviewing when we are on holiday i think i have to put in an application though and we will see what happens.

ive also been phoned by my youngest to google for directions to a place in nottingham she was having trouble finding – see what i mean? every time i seem to get numerous interuptions  still i have to say it was lovely to see everyone at the weekend.

For a Technophobe i’m not doing too badly! the funding assessment i went for yesterday may well lead to taking on doing more “technology” based work. 

yesterdays assessment was very strange- very confirming in someways (Im sure the idea is right ) but strange in highlighting how much my thoughts have moved on in such a short space of time. 

We should know anyway wether we are likely to get the money (and more important the support) to make it happen by the first week in June  just after our trip to the house in Scotland! 

I hope we get it I can see it making a lot of difference to the self image of many individuals around hereand ultimately to the image of the area and the other ellement of course is the fact that he was quite happy talking about it being a pilot and it then franchising if it works!

i should gain some new skills and eventually some paid employment

So much for my troubles There is also the “parent story” if the girls arent happy or have a problem it concerns us too – after all A PROBLEM SHARED IS A PROBLEM HALVED!!!!

It really doesnt seem possible but Sarah has been away for just over a year! … and what a year!!   yours truly is not quite such a technophobe and i am certainly appreciating the benefits of my laptop and a shrunken world. It is really nice to be able to communicate with people regardless of distance.

I am also very aware of how much the disabled community have moved on over recent weeks.ive only had to deal with having a recognised disability for a very short space of time but have been aware how much it knocks ones confidence Im about ready to bounce back but the people who have had years of it will take a lot longer

Id be very interested in opening up some sort of forum or dialogue to give people affected by the change in law a chance to bounce ideas off of each other- any ideas how?

with children far flung why do i keep coming back back to the same scenario … an impossibility in the vicarage to have an uninterupted conversation with my husband.Anyway have talked to both girls  hj last night (to check her e mails) and sr just now.

have put people right about symptoms and treatment  am making sure my diet is back on track after Christmas and am beginning to make things happen that I want.

We have just worked out a seed order for here and it looks like our after christmas break will now be the Feb half term)  I was about to be very rude about our car and the problems arising from it but hjs course must be rubbing off on me!

now it looks like being a fascinating week , providing they dont send me home again.  In the meantime i have just been reading a newsletter that I have been inspired by Am so glad the writer is still around and will try and put a link to it from here. that may not happen instantly though as im not sure i know how to and considering what else we need to get through it may have to wait!  actually it may not  …. i simply want to throw in the word synchronicity for people to ponder on!

for me its a word that has cropped up several times in different guises over the last few days and I have to say its quite exciting!!!

WELCOME 2007  I needed a change of mindset and i think i have finally got there .

Thank god for my Drama i am re inventing the role and have the feeling 2007 is going to be a fascinating year and Technology is going to play a major part in it.Want to use this as a platform for Life after a MS diagnosis it is ok !

I still worry about both my children but they are fine just keeping me on my toes (literally) and i want to bring my eldest up to date on happenings here

year began with a phonecall to the ms nurse  and having seen 1 at the clinic whose family come from where we have our house !!! i am booked in tommorow as a day patient for the 2nd attempt to get a course of steroids Tommorow afternoon i have a phone call booked with the DEA and things hopefully will begin to happen in the Employment

Had fascinating chat with IT advisor friday and know im on the right track! and have choice!

If someone has accessed anothers hotmail account is there anyway of working out whats going on?…. whoever it was was definitely not my daughter ! and at this distance we are a little worried

i have been able to spend time playing and getting to find my way round programmes so they re not quite the problem they were.  Am still struggling to find a way to upload photos from my phone

2 attempts have been unsucessfull but i am sure it will be a case of 3rd time lucky( once ive worked out what that should be) …….slight technical hitch there. Am coming back to this after a few days when there have been hiccups with software and photos but my eldest told me earlier today that i hadnt posted since July …not for want of itrying (HONEST) Now gotta run

i wander what Alex’ thoughts are on the happenings of the last 2 weeks!   IM sure his book will become a best seller eventually but in the meantime I am getting my head round technology

On the home front I am on a crash course on how to make the interview next week produce a job

…. and with the twins and Nick arriving tommorow night I am trying to get my head around what we can do !

i’ve just had the post i was waiting for… an appointment for functional electrical stimulation. and the paperwork that they sent mentions spare electrodes and foot switches mmmm  …. i wonder?  

This appointment has come through incredibly quickly compared to some   its about time things posotive started happening!

i am a little preoccupied ; this, and movement on the ramp front  and physiotherapy at the hospital( its only taken a year) its been quite a week !

it would make my week to get e mails from both my girls and know they’re both well.
